5th Bite - The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil

[Early Monday morning, Remilia finds a package on her doorstep. Having long since decided it's no use fretting over these things, she opens it immediately - and as realization spreads in her mind, she grins wickedly and heads for the roof. Finally, something that can go right...]

[Action - All Day Monday, Around Town]

[Throughout the day, hints of red mist start to fill the town, spreading around out from Ricardo Street. Also throughout the day, Remilia can be found walking around with her parasol or at her usual hangouts (Sakuya, Flandre and Meiling's houses), seeming a lot more upbeat than usual and grinning far more than is possibly normal. She seems very pleased with herself.]

[Action - All Day Tuesday, Around Town]

[Now the town is entirely drowned in Scarlet Mist, cutting out much of the sunlight and leaving what's left of it deep crimson. Most people can only see a few yards, but Remilia has no trouble navigating through the red cloud that covers even over the tallest houses and buildings. Delighting in her freedom from the sun, anyone in the mist might hear a delighted, wicked laughter or spot a dark shape with large, bat-like wings flitting about through the mists. Feel free to call her out, or maybe she'll stop by herself when she sees those rendered helpless or frustrated by their surroundings.]

[Phone - Tuesday Evening]

Ahh, the world's so much better painted in red! Truly, a devil's delight. Much better than the boring white of all those houses and picket fences, don't you think? But~ I'm sure there are some of you who disagree, don't you?

You're welcome to come and find me if you dare to argue - the Scarlet Devil won't refuse a fun date~ Especially from a certain red-white miko, hmm? It's going to be a fun night.

[Action - Tuesday Night, 506 Ricardo]

[And in a relatively clear patch of the mist, Remi is standing on top of the roof of her house, posing dramatically with her wings out and hands folded before her chest, awaiting the night's entertainments. The thinning mist above her paints the moon a deep red, making for quite the silhouette.]

Hmhmhm, I wonder if she'll come~

[OoC: The Scarlet Mist mini-event has begun! The details can be found here, but basically red mist will begin filling the town on Monday; by Tuesday Morning, most of the town will be so covered in red mist, you can't see more than a few feet to a few yards at most. Feel free to respond to any of the prompts or make your own posts complaining about/dealing with the red mist.

It all goes away Tuesday night at midnight, after Marisa beats the crap out of her, so for anyone who fights her, just know she's either going to win or escape since her fight against Marisa will be the last one.

You can also come fight her faithful servant, Meiling, over here, as it's a midboss's gateguard's duty to take on anyone who wants to challenge the final boss.]

She sleeps most of the time because she's awake for school, or to play with other people... and these houses are far too small for that sort of thing!

[And as soon as she is, she lashes out to unseat the witch from her broom]

You have to go to school, too. Play with her at recess. It's what it's there for, ze.

[And did Remilia force Marisa off her broom or did she send herself off? ONE MAY NEVER KNOW, but the witch is now free falling toward the ground, looking up at the vampire.

The broom, of course, zooms away, out of sight, amid the star bullets still peppering at Remilia. At least until the witch falls -through- the seals. Then they disappear.]

I can't, it's too sunny, that's the problem, you stupid witch!

[One does not simply play with Flandre and think they can hold a parasol while doing so.

In any case, Remilia uses her wings to shield herself from the star bullets and dives down after Marisa]

You're thinking too narrowly.

[Marisa calls that up to Remilia as she falls, unconcerned, wondering WHY Remilia just hasn't asked for Patchy to help her with this sun issue. The witch could think of many ways to make it possible to play with Flandre WITHOUT using the damn mist.

Marisa claps her hands before her and then spreads them out as Remilia dives close. She grins as a bunch of light pillars shoot up from the ground.

Light Sign: Shoot the Moon

And as one pillar shoots so close she can feel it, snatches her broom out of the air as it flew to her from down low, and swings up to stand on it, 'surfing' through the pillars shooting up and down at the vampire.]

[NOPE clearly giant sun-blocking mist is the only solution.

In any case, Remilia winces at the sudden light shooting up through the mist, for a moment focusing just on not getting hit by the pillars and not on Marisa's approach]

[Broomsurfing is one of Marisa's better skills, so she skillfully flies through her own danmaku, grazing the pillars, as she closes in quickly on Remilia. Under her breath, she activates the new reinforcement magic Merem has been teaching her.]

Oi! Remilia!

[Marisa calls to her as she gets within melee distance. What the hell was she dong that close, Remilia may wonder, as the witch almost always stayed away from close combat. When the vampire looks at her, she'll get to see that GRIN of hers just before the witch backhands her with the force of a freight train. Or at least that's what Marisa thought it'd be like. She wasn't sure how much force a freight train had since she'd only ever seen the express train Yukari could gap in as a weapon before.

Unless Remilia was prepared for the bizarre increase in strength and hardness of Marisa's hand, she was going to go right through her own roof. And really, what Gensokyo resident WOULD be prepared for it from the witch?]

[Even if Marisa's butt-attack was a recognized top-tier destroyer, Remilia wasn't expecting the witch to be going hand-to-hand at all, much less hitting her with that kind of force. Though she blocked with her wing and arm so she wouldn't be slapped in the face, she immediately rocketed downwards into the roof of her house with a tremendous crash and an explosion of debris]

[The witch flexed her hand, feeling the bones in it creak a little, before she released the magic. That was her first real serious use of the new magic and it still felt REALLY weird. Still it served its purpose.

Still standing on her broom, she flew down until she was hovering over the hole in the roof. There she called down to the vampire.]

Had enough?

[The broken beams and roof tiles shift, and Remilia climbs out, bloody and wounded. It's clear her wounds are already healing though, but there's a sullen look on her face as she glares up at Marisa]

Since when could you do things like that?

Does it matter? I can do it again, ze.

[badladyscramble]

[Grumbling, the vampire brushes herself off. She could probably keep going... but without her danmaku, she's unlikely to be able to fight Marisa without doing grievous injury and avoid getting smacked like that again.]

...ahh-ah. You're no fun at all... I wish Reimu had more of her powers back.

Oh, I dunno, ze. I had a lot of fun.

[Marisa dropped back down to sitting sideways on her broom.]

Put the mist away and let's get some tea.

Hmph, batting people around so forcefully... how uncouth.

Fine, fine... I'll recall it for now.

[She waves her hand dismissively, and the area around them starts to lighten up, the mist starting to disperse]

...do you ever listen to yourself sometimes? You're the one that tried to hit me off my broom. Had you actually hit me, it certainly wouldn't haven been a light tap, ze.

[Marisa looked up and smiled as the mist faded.]

I bet Sakuya has a pot already made and waiting.

Well, I don't really have a choice since I don't have danmaku... and I wouldn't have hit you as hard as that.

Probably... if she's not still mad at me...

Even if she is she'll make it if you ask her too. So let's go, ze. It's getting late for me and I don't want Patchy worrying.

[Well, she can't say it wasn't kind of fun, even if getting smacked into a house isn't as good as a beautiful danmaku fight.]
