[See that six-foot android covered head to toe in some sort of armor, going about his business?]

[He's not wearing green. At all.]

[Try to pinch him. Go on, try it.]

[ACTION - B (BACKDATED TO MARCH 17, John Doe Park, Afternoon, OPEN TO ALL)]

[That same android now seems to have a couple of drones following him, even hanging on to him, desperately trying to pinch him—on the hard, armored parts of his body. Suffice to say, they're not having much luck—and the android looks a little annoyed as he tries to brush some of the drones off of him.]

What in th' hell are ya'll on about?

[ACTION - C (BACKDATED TO MARCH 17, Olney's Tavern, Evening, OPEN TO ALL)]

[Gat's noticed the sizable amount of patrons heading toward the tavern, both droned and undroned alike. Curious, he's come to the tavern himself, though judging from the way he carries himself and rubs the back of his helmeted head as he scans the tavern in a manner not unlike the Terminator, he's a little perplexed.]

Seems to be th' case.

[Gat looks both ways, as if expecting an ambush by more drones looking to pinch people not wearing green. You could even say he's expecting a pincher attack.]

I heard it's got somethin' to do with a religious holiday, but th' way folks explained it to me, th' pinchin' is a cultural thing that got tacked on.

So it's just a useless attachment to a holiday? Well that's a strange thing to do to people...I don't understand its purpose.

Same here. Th' color I can understand, but I'd love to know how th' whole pinchin' thing got started.

Ah, the color aspect...I managed to get one of the drones to explain that much to me, but no one can tell me about the pinching...

Given my choice of attire, it ain't so easy to find somethin' that'll keep folks at bay.

And I don't really know many people who are comfortable wearing green anyway. It's not a color I'd really like to wear.

(Even vampire hunters need to have style!)

Heh. Almost makes me wish I was assigned a different Section ID back on my homeworld. I reckon folks wouldn't be tryin' to bother me here if I was in Greenill or Viridia rather than Purplenum.

[He taps his chest lightly, pointing at the purple symbol on his armor.]

Do those provide additional affects to your armor?

This thing? Naw. It's jus' how they sorted folks out on Pioneer 2.

I see...so it's for organizational purposes. I suppose a green one would've been helpful in this case.

That or a neutral-element Line Shield.

Things can be of a neutral element?!

(Such a thought is unheard of to Django; it's either something or another! He's never heard of Final Fantasy's flare, apparently.)

Where I'm from, they can. Photonic equipment that's neutral in element is jus' puttin' out spiritually-infused energy.

Interesting...in my world, neutral isn't really an option unless it's with unenchanted melee weapons, but sol is the default element there; it gets the job done well enough.

Enchanted, y'say ... Well, I reckon you could call it all th' same thing—"soul" bein' th' default element of photonic technology, I mean.

[Gat's misheard what Django said, mistaking "sol" for "soul."]

Oh, that makes sense! It's essentially the same thing that powers most things back home. Even my gun is powered by it, but the element of its shots are dependent on its current lens.

Heh, that ain't too surprisin'. Jus' about any technology can be applied to weapons.

[Gat looks up and over at a nearby set of power lines for a moment, his body language thoughtful.]

It's th' same for where I'm from, though; photon reactors are used for everything. It's been one hell of an adjustment livin' in a place that's jus' usin' electricity. An' even then they ain't makin' th' most out of it.

I agree; they could be doing a much better job with their power management. Perhaps this is just one of the many aspects of Mayfield that need improvement.

True ... But I've got my doubts we're livin' in a "real" place.

So you believe in that theory of virtual simulation...I've heard about it. I'm not sure what to make of Mayfield itself, but I believe in making sure everyone gets out of it alive.

It seems th' most likely explanation to me. Th' company I work for uses a lot of VR Space simulations for trainin' an' competitive events, an' th' way this town behaves ain't too far off from what you can do in with virtual reality.

One would think that they could create more interesting places than this with that sort of technology. Perhaps they made it this way on purpose?
