Quinn? We were talking about making a muse... er... robot. I was wondering, if you're still interested, why don't you come on over to my place at 1126 Taylor Road. We can work in my lab. Expect to spend the first day sitting around drawing ideas and discussing options.

Well, yes. In my world many ruling families were started by sparks, and that the spark runs in the family. How else would anyone achieve ascendance? It's not like even military accomplishment is sufficient without strong technology, after all!

You keep saying "spark". That's terminology I'm not familiar with. But it has to do with science and technology, I'm getting that much of an idea...

That sounds great, Dakki. The bakery this afternoon, then.

A spark...

I'm told that the spark is unusual in most worlds. We are scientists, but we take science where it can't go on its own. We sort of exceed science, if that makes any sense.

Ilsa thinks it's rather like her own magic, only it's technological.

[Ponders.]

Perhaps this would make sense: if you were badly damaged, I might not be able to repair you in anything like the way your designers would. Or even in a way that they'd understand. But I could almost certainly repair you, and you might come out even better than you started. Even if your own logic said it was impossible.

Does that help at all?

Eh. We can talk more at the bakery....
