7th Protocol--[Action all over the place] ☢
[This wasn’t the first time someone precious to her had gone quiet. Orin had stopped talking right several days ago, but Okuu assumed she would come back to her senses soon.
But she didn’t.
She should have expected this; it happened to her master, her master’s sister…and now her best friend. For a brief, horrible moment, she felt like the only creature in all the world.
Then the yatagarasu had started whispering to her, and Utsuho knew she was not alone. The voice preached fire, unfettered burning destruction like a sun allowed too close to the earth. Normally, discipline kept the voice at bay—what little discipline could be forced into her head. It was easy to ignore the voice when one barely heard it.
…but this time, it was different. This time, that all sounded like a very, very good idea.
Utsuho shook out her wings and leapt into the air, heat shimmering at the edges of her feathers.]
[ACTIVE STUFF]
[The hell raven was moving fast this time; no lazy, mindless circling today. The heat gathering at her wings flickered into flames now, as if the air around her was catching light. More heat gathered into the octagonal cannon covering most of her arm until the light grew too bright to look at—and then tore free in a fiery beam that seared an ugly scar into the formerly pristine road below.
When Utsuho cast her other arm out, suns appeared at her fingertips—tiny, miniature suns that grew alarmingly and then sped away as if thrown, arcing out across the sky until they burned out the instant her focus went elsewhere. Some fell to the ground like stars and burn out in the grass there or hiss and spit clouds of steam when they sink into the pond; the hell raven wasn’t really paying attention. She wasn’t aiming at the ground for the most part, some small bit of her remaining conscience saying her master might be down there, her best friend, her master’s sister…most of her anger was directed at the sky, but engaging a challenge was not beyond her senses.
For all that could be said of Okuu’s lack of intelligence, there certainly wasn’t much remaining in her eyes now. She was angry, very angry, and wasn’t thinking and didn’t want to think.
It probably won’t be too long before she gets herself droned, but in the meantime.
For today’s forecast there is a chance of angry gods flying overhead. You know, the usual for Mayfield.]

How long're you planning on staying in the sky like that?

Utsuho gathers herself, heat shimmering all around her--and then lurches forward into a dive, first slow, then much, much faster, like a truck.
A flaming truck, now; shreds of fire were streaking out over her shoulders and from her wings with each beat, and as she approaches, the hellraven raises her arms like a hawk might its talons.]

But awww yis like this it's much easier to take a better look at Utsuho--or her lines of death at least. If Shiki can't see the dot just yet then this girl must be pretty old or something, but no worries. Fire's just another thing on the list of concepts and things she can kill, so she's not worried about getting hurt as she takes a stance to raise her knife and have it point straight at the hellraven.]

Utsuho's line of death might be hard to see; she is technically a god and all BUT SHE KIND OF ATE A DEAD ONE to get there. If anything there might be more lines than there should be, with this kind of parasite/host action going on.]
no subject
So those flames that are coming her way... YEP THOSE LINES ARE AS CLEAR AND PLAIN AS DAY so they'll be getting cut pretty neatly. That fire's probably disappearing a lot faster than it should be.]

Within another few wingbeats, she would crash into this human.]

tl;dr BRACING HERSELF AS BEST SHE CAN FOR IMPACT]

IT IS MADE OF OW]

There is one knife incoming towards one of her wings now IS SHE GOING TO LAND A HIT???]

-was something no one else really attempted to do.
It also was the most effective; even if the wings weren't very fragile normally.
Half of the great wing detaches from the rest, briedly hanging in the air as if parted by an invisible wire.
Then the blood gushes after, near-black and near-boiling as the hellraven shrieks something awful, twisting and turning and reaching for the human with grasping fingers.
...technically, she didn't need her wings to fly
due to GAMEPLAY MECHANICS. But she's just slightly distracted right now and won't be doing any of that anyway.]no subject
That looked like it did the trick OF COURSE SHE'S BACKING AWAY LIKE CRAZY NOW but allllright with the other girl thrashing about like that, getting in close again would probably be a bad idea, but getting the chance for a killing blow should be easy enough now that she's. Writhing in pain and all that.]
oh fuck I forgot about this I AM SORRY Dx
What did you do to it?!
[The air in front of her jaws blisters with a heat haze.
...though her voice sounds odd. More like something one would expect from a machine, rather than a living creature.]
HOLDS IT'S OKAY!!
I killed it.

Utsuho--or whatever was possessing her at the time--doesn't talk further. She can't get very far into the air, but she manages to at least add height to her leap, lunging forwards with her arm cannon swiping forwards like a baseball bat.
She's also made an awfully big target of herself.]

[Utsuho hisses terribly as the knife sinks into her shoulder up to the handle; the arm carrying the cannon. It dropped, uselessly, but her momentum kept her moving forwards against the blade.]
no subject
Well this half-hanging half-falling state certainly wouldn't do; that's why without wasting anymore time, Shiki finds the certain death point that would kill this girl for sure. She takes her knife from Utsuho's shoulder, and before they can fall any further, stabs right in the middle of the other girl's chest. Bizarre lines or not, the death point was the death point.
It wouldn't be long now.]

Something seemed to crack and sever like muffled, shattering glass. It was hard to move now; numb. Nothing her mind told her body to do seemed to go through in time, and her vision was going red, then gray, then black at edges that grew and grew until she could see nothing.
Utsuho's body dropped and fell forwards on the knife--and the arm that held the knife--like some last spiteful action.]

And so, the girl was dead. Shiki really had no idea why she was going on a rampage in the first place, but she was thankful at least for a good fight. After dusting herself off, she went back to take her knife and flick off the blood before sheathing it back. With that, she was on her way.]
Thanks for the fight. [Meaningless words to someone who was dead, but that was just how she was.]
