[Action - School]

[Marisa is sitting on top of the table in the cafeteria, legs crossed, as she's finishing up telling a tale to the other students sitting around her at lunch.]

...and that's why you need to be careful when you see lots of flowers just suddenly appearing all over the place, like they did here, ze. They could be a bunch of dead people just waiting for a lazy shinigami to take them across the Sanzu to Higan.

[Action - Makeout Point - Evening]

[Anyone attuned to the flow of magic with the capacity to sense it feel a surge coming from Makeout Point. In fact, this sudden concentration feels VERY much like Shana's Guren no Souyoku Unrestricted Method that grants her wings of flame.

Only it doesn't feel quite right. It doesn't feel like fire, but... starlight? A shimmering yellowish glow can be seen from the Point.]

[Phone]

So who wants to go to the Drive In? It's almost dark and I feel like seeing a movie on that really big screen with popcorn and some friends and b--

[She cuts herself off. No, no drinking tonight because... The phone is partially muffled as Marisa yells something back into her own house.]

Oi! Ciel! I'm taking the car tonight. No, I'm not going to drink. Yes, I know how to drive. And no, you're not stopping me. I already got the keys, ze.

[And back to talking on the phone.] So who wants to come with me? No boring people allowed.

[SMALL SIGH. It could be translated to "the things I agree to..."

She'll simply remove them but keep her hold onto the frame in her left hand. She'll be then glancing back at Marisa with the neutral expression that she already had on, her gaze remaining just as focused if not more. Her eyes are a clear cyan blue, and her vision is beyond perfect: one would need good aim to excel with projectiles. Those glasses are fake, yep, whether Marisa ever bothered investigating or not...]

[That beats cracking jokes about her child-bearing hips. She'd rather not be picked out apart from the crowd, honestly. Things are so much easier when you're under the radar.

...

Her expression shifts slightly.]

I haven't had children, if that's what you're asking. [She can't even crack a semblance of a joke about something like that, being ~Catholic~ not even on the top of the list of reasons why.

What does she give? It may be more believable to give her actual age, but--

--No, Shiki's referred to her as 'senpai', didn't he? He always had and Marisa's been here long enough to meet him. So without skipping a beat:]
I'm only eighteen, after all. The minimal age requirement to be considered an adult here, I suppose that it fitted. [She'll be putting her glasses back on then, if you don't mind. The answer was also very natural, no hint of hesitation at all.]

[She manages to contain her shock: this is definitely not something she gets told often. In a place as harsh and chaotic as Mayfield, practically everyone were more than happy to accept her as how she's presented herself to suit the setting: someone reliable and capable who can be turned to and counted on for help and support when things get bad. Her personal experiences helped solidify the image, so in contrast to the senpai model she successfully kept in Misaki, here it turned into a mature woman who indeed behaved far beyond her physical years.

In fact, she doesn't remember the last person who called her out on this.

But stupid fun, huh? ...Doesn't half the "bad" stuff that happen to her here already qualify? (That or her definition of a good time has already been broken beyond repair) Getting angry at silly things and subtly teasing others, these were luxuries that living like a normal human held. Both a curse and a blessing. This...

She just blinks at the poke, and keeps watching the blonde witch with the same expression of mild amazement until Marisa disappears by the staircase. ...And no glasses, huh?

...Haha, that's a little something she's indulged in that she doesn't plan to let go of. If anything, it brings up the embarrassing memory of having at one point wanted to give Tohno Shiki her current pair - the original ones received as a regain. Because she wanted him to remember her as just his senpai at the end of that road, not the cold Church Executor that he had to confront several times. But in the end, he was droned before she got the chance, although looking at it now, it would've been a remarkably silly request anyway.

...

She finishes what's left of her tea and takes off her glasses again. She'll then idly wipe the lenses with the edge of her blouse, breathing out softly before putting them back on the bridge of her nose. What a strange turn of events... She sure had no plans to revisit these memories tonight, but moving on. Stretching a bit as she stands up and picks up after herself, she gives the living room of 1125 Taylor Road a quick sweep before exiting her way to the kitchen.

...Eh, missing a day of school was never a big deal here. Marisa can come home whenever she wants, as long as she doesn't reek of alcohol and presents herself as wasted in Ciel's direct presence.]
