[Action - Makeout Point - Evening]

[Anyone attuned to the flow of magic with the capacity to sense it feel a surge coming from Makeout Point. In fact, this sudden concentration feels VERY much like Shana's Guren no Souyoku Unrestricted Method that grants her wings of flame.

Only it doesn't feel quite right. It doesn't feel like fire, but... starlight? A shimmering yellowish glow can be seen from the Point.]

So who wants to go to the Drive In? It's almost dark and I feel like seeing a movie on that really big screen with popcorn and some friends and b--

[She cuts herself off. No, no drinking tonight because... The phone is partially muffled as Marisa yells something back into her own house.]

Oi! Ciel! I'm taking the car tonight. No, I'm not going to drink. Yes, I know how to drive. And no, you're not stopping me. I already got the keys, ze.

[And back to talking on the phone.] So who wants to come with me? No boring people allowed.

What in the world are you doing?

[Why is Remilia moongazing during the evening?

Anyways, when Remilia approaches, she'll see Marisa on the ground, standing in the middle of a magic circle that blazes a brilliant blue-white. Coming from her back are a pair of large wings made of magic.

In fact, they're bright yellow and instead of embers of flame falling from them as with Shana's wings, small stars fall from them and a close look shows many stars in their form as well.

Marisa's eyes are closed and she's not responding to Remilia. She's not quite done with the spell yet.]

[badladyscramble]

[She likes to get an early start! Besides, moon-rises happen throughout the day... basically, it's getting dark enough she can go around without a stupid parasol, so she wants to stretch her wings!

She flaps down lower towards where Marisa's standing, landing on the ground a little ways away. She huffs a bit at that lack of response, but waits for the witch to finish.]

[Marisa's lips are silently moving, her brow creased in concentration. Then the circle under her dissipates, leaving scorched ground under her, and the wings still there.

Then she opens her eyes and looks over at Remilia.]

Hey.

Hello, Marisa. What in the world are those? Or rather, what are they for?

They're wings, ze. And what do you think they're for? Wings are generally used for flying.

[badladyscramble]

But you can fly with your broom.

[adropofjupiter]

And you can fly with your wings. What would you do if your wings were cut off? Would you be earthbound or find another way to fly?

What, did someone take your broom?

And besides, my wings would grow back.

Are you sure about that? They could be cut off by silver.

And you didn't answer my question.

It would be a pain, but I could fix them provided I'm not dead.

In any case, if they were sealed in some way or another, I'd find a way around it.

Now answer my question. Have you somehow lost your usual method of flying? Considering how you've been invading our houses, I know you had it before.

My broom's perfectly fine. It's over there. [And she points to a nearby tree where her broom is indeed resting against it.]

Then I don't get what all this sparkly fuss is about. You look silly.

You're not a magician; you wouldn't understand. Ask Patchy about this sometime. She's probably the only one that would be able to explain the reasons behind this in a way you could understand.

Don't act like I can't understand magic. Or are you just that poor at explaining things?

It's less that I can explain things and more this is really only something another magician will really understand.

It's for progression, growth and understanding how to open up a new metaphysical corridor. And exercise in deconstruction and reformulation. And it's cool as all hell.

[A frown. She didn't exactly understand all of that, but she catches some of the concepts - she's a minor practitioner herself, after all.]

Your sense of aesthetics suck with the dark gloomy colors. Magic should be flashy and these are indeed flashy~

It's not the colors, it's a the whole winged-witch thing. You're not an angel or a devil. It clashes with such a wide-brimmed hat. Your usual magic orbs are much better.

[Marisa should regain her laser skittles some time...]
