[Well, it's been a few days since the end of the event, when Lyon stormed up to her room and locked herself in out of sheer embarrassment.  She was droned for seemingly no reason about ten minutes after that, and Mayfield's been treated to the cheerful drone named Mismar bouncing around town in her place ever since - doing her hair up in curls, going on dates with the Prince's drone, and just generally having a nice relaxing time in the wonderful town of Mayfield.

...All of that comes to an abrupt end on Saturday morning, however, as a red beam of light tears through the roof of 747 Partridge Drive, bright enough and wide enough to be seen from anywhere in town.]

...Hello, everyone.  It's Lyon.  I'm back.  How long has it been here?  And can anyone help repair a hole in a roof?

I kind of get it! [ She nods. ] Is everything under control, now?

Yes, I was just surprised, that's all.

So, for this... [ Meiling reaches down and plucks a cracked piece of wood from one of the beams. ] I think I'll have to clean it up a bit so it doesn't fall on anyone's head, before covering it.

Okay, I will! [ And she'll just get to work on that. Maybe the town will heal the house on its own, but that doesn't mean she has to deal with a drafty ceiling in the meantime. What if it rained or snowed tonight? Meiling is on the job! ]

[Later on, Lyon comes up with some tea.]

Meiling! Do you want to take a break?

[ She stopped and wiped the sweat from her brow. ] That'd be nice, thanks! [ Meiling sniffs out that tea and smiles. ]

Come on down, we can drink it together!

[Lyon just goes ahead and takes a seat on her bedroom floor, setting the tea tray down in front of her.]

Okay! [ The hole is much cleaner now, if larger, so she just sets her tools aside and hops on down through it. Her work clothes come in handy for jobs like this, and she has a hammer tucked into the front pocket of her overalls. ] I think I should be done in an hour or so. Some of the parts are really tricky. I don't want to take the whole roof down, eheh...

I'm just glad I can help! There's not a lot to do when things are peaceful, except be close to my family and friends.

As good as they can be, I suppose. I went back home to Falena for a while before I woke up back here. Things are much better than when I came to Mayfield the first time.

Oh, you were— [ She doesn't like thinking about people droned, so she trails off, there. ] You mean back home, right? That's reassuring.

The war is finally over. We won, and Falena is being rebuilt.

[ There was a war? Meiling doesn't remember, but it's not like she has to ask about it, now. ] That's great news! I'm glad to hear it. [ Though the gatekeeper's also sorry that she ended up back in Mayfield again... ]

I got promoted, too! I'm a full fledged Queen's Knight now.

[ A little astonished. ] Whoa, that's almost like something out of a comic. Good for you, Lyon!

[Lyon smiles, blushing a little. She never did know how to take a compliment.]

Does the title come with anything else? I'm wondering if things will start showing up here for you because of it. [ She takes a long sip from her tea, drinking it all down before it got lukewarm. ]

Well, I did get a new uniform. I only have my old one here right now, from when I was still an apprentice. Maybe I could trade it for the new one at the Post Office.

Clothes are good! It took me a while to get all of mine back, but at least I was lucky enough to get my hat first. [ Which, even if she doesn't wear it everywhere, the star is usually pinned to her dress in some fashion. ]

I know what you mean. I feel a lot more comfortable wearing things from home.
