Those apparently in charge of Mayfield are notorious for doing everything in their power to leave us in the dark. This is just an extension of that.

That makes sense... but, even so, they shouldn't do that through books...!

Book censorship is easy, until the population starts being able to bring in their own books. It's not very nice, but I understand.

You sound as if you're speaking from experience...

I've been in... a few situations somewhat like this. Censorship, monitoring, being unable to leave, that sort of thing.

That's terrible! Then, what did you do there...?

Uh... Dealt as best as I could, mostly. I had a few friends who brought me books secretly, which was nice, even if it never really helped much in the long run.

I see... that's probably not an option here. But I'm glad that you were able to escape from a situation like that.

I'm not, no, although I have heard of it here and there as well.

No, I haven't. And the learning curve to adjusting to life here is... difficult.
