Shadow the Hedgehog marches out the back door, ready for yet another afternoon of patrolling this town as usual. But he notices a small package addressed to him poking out of the mouth of the doghouse. Crimson eyes narrow as he approaches said package, opening it to find... a very familiar pair of shoes.

He smirks. The idea of patrolling Mayfield just got a hell of a lot more fun.

ACTION - AROUND MAYFIELD

Now that he's got his Air Shoes back, Shadow's gotten faster. Much faster. He races through town, gliding forward as if he were on ice. If he knows you, he may slow down to say a few words, but this is a hedgehog that's very much in a hurry. Not because he's on a desperate mission. Not because he has any desire to get back to the house anytime soon.

Because Shadow honestly missed being able to cut loose and move this fast.]

The Captain is curious, so he flies lower and faster. Seeing if he can keep up.

The Captain can fly very ☠☠☠☠ fast, he can't go the speed of sound though.]

[Shadow glances briefly over his shoulder. Is that guy flying? Scoffing, Shadow picks up his pace and moves a bit faster. Hope you can keep up with him, Captain.]

[He's going to try. He can push it, though that's going to get dangerous fast.

Of course, if Shadow starts to lose him, he's just going to start gaining altitude. Give himself a larger field of vision to keep up with that quick critter.]

[Another glance over his shoulder. Is Shadow smirking at you, Captain? He sure is.]

[Is he getting mocked by a two legged animal... thing... with sneakers?

Well, time to change things. When Shadow has to go around things, The Captain flies above buildings and cuts corners. Trying to gain on the thing.]

[Okay, this isn't at all what Shadow was expecting at all.]

Speedster? [He wrinkles his nose at that term. Reminds him too much of a certain blue hedgehog.] Call me Shadow.

[He's giggling. He is so excited about this, Shadow.]

I'm Impulse!

I'm not interested.

[And he picks up his speed to demonstrate. Shadow's people skills are less than remarkable.]

[Someone was just stepping out of their job at the grocery when you speed by, Shadow. And just stands there, shocked for a moment.]

The hell was that?

[He skids to a halt about a block or so ahead because oh hey he recognizes you. Shadow then makes his way back to the grocery store with a smirk on his face.]

That's one way of putting it. [For once, Shadow's in a pretty damn good mood.] Surprised?
