Blueprints 012: Sometimes you just need a little more crazy

[Engie's been pretty busy lately. He's hardly come out of his garage at all, having been seized with the usual fervor that comes with all madboys when they stumble on an idea.

And boy, does Engie have one now. What started as an innocent walk around town two weeks ago took a turn for crazy when he idled outside the cinema. There was a poster there of a new movie, and it reminded Engie of the craziness of last Halloween...

Action: John Doe Park, All Day

Mayfield, there is something new set up at the park. It's big, it's mechanical, and it shoots fire. It's...a fire-breathing robot dinosaur lizard thing! And there's the Engineer testing out the controls to his latest creation. Being around the size of a car, the robot takes a few jerky steps forward as Engie moves the joystick forward. Grinning, he presses the giant red button in the centre to release a thin jet of flame into the air.

[Cain pauses on his walk through the park when he sees that familiar figure standing on the grass... and then does a double-take when his companion breathes fire.]

Engie...?

[hardhat_truckie]

Howdy Cain!

[Engie waves the boy over, a big grin on his face.]

Say hi ta Lil' Chomp Chomp!

Lil' Chomp Chomp...?

[Said rather faintly, looking over the robot in mild concern. What even is this, Engie?]

[Stress relief for Engie.]

Yeah! I saw a poster outside the cinema, thought I'd try makin' one of them fancy robots myself. Took me two weeks ta finish'im, but it was all worth it.

[He's quite impressed, there aren't many here that could build a functioning, fire-breathing robot in two weeks.]

And what gave you the inspiration for the name?

[hardhat_truckie]

Ain't that what a dino do? Chomp stuff up with his big ol' nasty teeth?

[He chuckles and pushes the giant red button again, setting fire to the fallen tree.]

Honestly though, there's a train back home called Lil' Chew Chew. Hafta admit that I got some inspiration from'im.

I'm not so sure you should be destroying the trees here and burning them, you might get into trouble for it.

[Or more likely, he's worried he could get into trouble via association.]

Don't ya worry about this ol'cowboy Cain. Besides, it's jus' a small testrun. I'm not intending ta let Chomp Chomp loose on the town either; I built him jus' fer fun.

Why on earth would you build a fire-breathing robot just for fun?
