[Remus winces, and calmly makes his way up to the second floor, pinching at the bridge of his nose.]

We need to get him before he gets anyone else. [She's made it safely out of her room, one hand to the hallway wall.]

I know. [Remus comes up beside her and offers his arm to guide her toward the staircase.] But look, you're blind, and I'm still without a wand. We have to think this one through, not just go barreling in.

[She never thought she'd miss the ability or the effect of rolling her eyes.] I would never! I'm not Ja-- [Lily's voice dies at the name, her hand tightening on Remus's arm.]

We need to lure him in. A trap.

He may already be on his way here. Given his state of mind, I don't entirely trust that he's going to stay at home like a good lad.

[Remus is steering them toward the kitchen door the moment they reach the bottom step.] We're at a bit of a disadvantage here. Sirius isn't half as stupid as he acts, and if he's got it out for us, we may not stand much of a chance as we are now.
