[A] Action: Dairy]

[Margot has definitely been tipped off that something is up during the early hours of the morning when the tv had gone on the fritz, waking her up from a booze induced coma on the couch.

It’s only amplified when, later, she tries to go out the backdoor to have a pre-breakfast cigarette and manages to pass through the door. She plays with this for a moment (in-out-in-out) before it becomes solid again, ramming her face rather painfully into the wood and feeling like a fool.

It gives her an idea, though.

For most of the morning, she listens in to the phone network, confirming that other strange things are happening (and, really, all she has to do is look outside at the drones to know). Before noon, after she’s taken a trip to the floor through one of the kitchen chairs, she works up the nerve to head out and towards the dairy, willing to try something.

It’s Dist’s words that urge her on -- things are falling apart. Time to act. She feels good about this, pumped. She can do it.

The dairy door is in sight, she keeps striding purposefully forward, almost there and...

BAM!

She bounces unceremoniously off the door and lands flat on her ass, rubbing her forehead.

Okay. It only worked part of the time with the door at home and then randomly with the chair, maybe it just needs a bit? She gives it a few more minutes and then tries again, but this time more cautiously.

Same thing. Solid as a rock.

She can be found at this for the next several hours with absolutely no success whatsoever. Gold stars for trying?]

Has anyone else tried going through the walls of the dairy or city hall or the post office? It seems like things are -- are flickering. Like something is wrong with the illusion?

I tried myself, but had no luck. Maybe someone else will get it.

[And yes, someone does sound bitter about this.]

Margot whirls around with a fist on fire, ready to lob it at him, but stops herself when she sees who it is.]

[He manages to quell his laughter to mere giggles, but he's still obviously enjoying it.]

It's nice to see you too, Miss Margot.

[allwehad]

Does everyone have to call me 'miss?!' Do you now how old it makes me feel?!

[If she's going to be angry, she's going to latch onto something, so may as well be that. She throws her hands into the air, giving him a one-eyed glare.]

[kinship]

[He seems utterly unfazed, just continuing to smile at her pleasantly.]

Would you prefer ma'am?

[allwehad]

I would prefer my name.

[kinship]

[He doesn't call anyone by their first names, really. He's uber-polite like that, manners deeply ingrained.]

As you wish, my name.

[He's also a little dick.]

[allwehad]

[Yeah. Final straw. She hurls a fireball in his direction -- not close enough to hit, but hopefully close enough to scare or intimidate.]

[He does flinch a little, it was unexpected, but it doesn't wipe the smile from his face.]

I didn't know you could do that, my name.

Margot. MARGOT.

I can also strike you down with lightening, don't make me do it.

Would you really strike down a defenceless ten year old child?

How heartless of you, my name. And here I thought we were friends.

IT'S MARGOT. MY NAME IS MARGOT.

[This is too funny.]

[She makes some sort of vague air punching motion because as much as she would love to deck him in the face, her moral compass won't allow her to hit a child.

I thought you were a weaver? Do you swear on yourself where you're from? Or are you a deity?

[Fuck off? No way. But he will ask a million and one annoying questions!]

[allwehad]

It's -- no! They're different! The Weaver is a god and we're named after it.

[If he won't fuck off, then she will, turning to stomp past him like a two-year-old having a tantrum.]

[He just falls into step beside her, smiling as though they're having a pleasant stroll as friends.]

That's fascinating. One of the good things about this place, is learning about so many other worlds and cultures.

[allwehad]

[He's speeding up too, he's remarkably persistent.]

Are there other Gods? Or is the Weaver the only one?

[allwehad]

Just that one in our culture.

[Fine, fine. She stops.]

Don't you have better things to do?

[kinship]

[He looks surprised at the question, before smiling.]

No.

[allwehad]

Well go find something better to do. I'm not in the mood to babysit.

[kinship]

Don't worry, you don't have to babysit me. I'm much more capable than I look, and it's nice to spend time with a friend.
