Fourth cutie mark hunt [Action - Neutron Diner]

Hey, waitresses at Neutron Diner? Did the drones ever mention about another waitress? Or rather, a pony waitress? Well, they obviously didn’t but today you will see a tiny yellow pony carrying trays of plates in her mouth – and trying to shove them onto the tables.

Apple Bloom has just had the idea that she might get her cutie mark in waitressing. Will she? Won’t she? Well, she’s not doing a very good job of it so far. She might be...

a) Dropping the tray onto the floor with food and plates scattering everywhere. Maybe the food and drinks land on YOU!

b) Putting food onto your tables, regardless of whether or not they’re the food you actually ordered. Or even putting food onto your tables even when you haven’t ordered yet! In some extreme cases, she might have already served you but has now given you more food, whether you ordered it or not! But who cares? The more food she gets out, the sooner she will get her cutie mark, right?

....Right?

It'll be only so long before the drones spot her and kick her out of the diner. Oh, and she's not wearing rollerskates.]

[BRB ignoring you and glancing at her flank for a second...]

[Aaaand her flank is still blank. :(] Oh. [To herself] Maybe I need to serve more customers, first.

[Well, this was a bad time to check out the diner. Now he's saunce and burger bits splattered onto his legs.]

What in th' blazes—?

[Tiny Texanesque Pony, meet Texanesque CAST.]

[And veeery soon after that, a little pony comes up with the bill in her mouth. And yes, she's expecting you to pay. :)]

[When Apple Bloom comes back with the bill, Gat's kneeling down to try and wipe off some of the burger gibs off of his leg armor. He glances up to see if there's a napkin nearby he can use, and instead sees the pony's back with something else ... a bill?]

What's all this now?

[Expressionless as Gat may seem thanks to that faceplate and helmet, his body language gives a good impression that he's staring incredulously at Apple Bloom.]

[Drops it from her mouth] What? What did I do....?

[Then she actually notices the mess.] Oh....uh, wait a minute! I'll just clean that up! [And she leaves and comes straight back with a mop]

[Gat glances over at the bill while Apple Bloom's off to get that mop. Sure, he might not value the money here as he would Meseta, but ... was she really bringing that to him to pay for that mess? He hadn't even ordered anything, much less sat down at a table—!]

[Once Apple Bloom's back with that mop, Gat looks back over to her. His voice has a mechanical echo to it, but aside from that it sounds human. Texan, even.]

I reckon you got me mixed up with somebody else. I ain't ordered anything yet.

[He isn't aware of what Mayfield does to people who are brought in as pets, otherwise he'd be dumbstruck by seeing a pint-sized pony working here in the first place.]

Huh? Ya sure ya didn't? Because I was sure ya did. [And yeah, it's a lie and she knows it - she's still desperate to get her cutie mark even though she's still going to clean up the mess]

[Gat tilts his head inquisitively.]

You gotta be seated before this here place'll serve ya, right?

[Right now, Gat's assuming Apple Bloom was taken from a culture that has no such thing as restaurants and diners, yet was expected by the town to work here anyway. Or maybe she's just a young example of ... whatever species she is. What with all his experience with Chen, it's hard for him to be certain!]

Hmmm...[Maybe she needs to try again] Okay, I'll clean it up right now an' then get ya yer food! [She then starts to clean up. Note that Apple Bloom hasn't said anything about getting the menu]

[Although he keeps still so that Apple Bloom can clean up the mess without him getting in the way, Gat raises his arms up in a sort of Kanye-style shrug.]

I still gotta order somethin' before that, miss.

. . . does this mean it's free?

[Totally unconcerned about the pony delivering food. But he hadn't ordered yet.]

Free? Of course, not! Ya gotta pay like the rest of the customers.

[ Don't worry, someone is here to catch those plates before they fall. Though she does perhaps notice long-standing messes that need to be cleaned up... It's pretty clear from the fact a "pet", as Mayfield must classify her, is working that Apple Bloom isn't an actual employee. ]

Oops, careful there, dear. Are you alright?

Y-yeah, I'm fine! Just, er....need to clean all this up. Heh. [BRB getting mop]

Here, deary, I can help a bit.

[ Keine gets some napkins from a nearby table to lend a hand. Normally she might not, but she can tell Applebloom is working hard. ]

Are you a waitress now?

Really? Wow, thanks!

Well.....no, but waitressin' might be my special talent so I thought I'd give it a shot!

[Saori states at the order placed in front of her. Sure she wanted fries and milkshake but she didn't order yet.]

Excuse me, um pony, I think I have someone's order by mistake.

[Aaaand she had disappeared and has now come right back with a bill in her mouth, not having heard a word of what Saori has just said]

H-hey now! Wait just a second there, pony.

This isn't my bill. Um...have you ever worked as a waitress before?

Ya sure it isn't? Cos it's the bill for the right food.

Nope, but I figured that might be my special talent so I thought I'd give it a try!

But sweetie, I didn't even order yet. As a waitress, it's your responsibility to make sure the right orders and bills go to the right person.

Special talent? Why are you looking for it here?

It is? But I was sure ya were the right person. [In other words, she might have seen a person who looked like Saori who ordered it but didn't remember and didn't care]

Because I ain't got my cutie mark yet an' I want it now!

[She shakes her head but smiles.]

Sorry, not this time. Even though the job can get pretty busy, you always need to be aware of your surroundings. Waitresses are supposed to ensure the guests are happy during their stay here. Trust me, I worked as one a long time ago.

Cutie mark? I never of that term before. Why do you want it now?

[The drones don't like ponies in the diner? Well, they're really going to have a cow now. Pinkie goes where she wants with little regard for what winds them up because they're silly, and heck, she wanted some ice cream. She's spotted poor Apple Bloom dropping that tray!]

Hey, Apple Bloom! Do you need any help with that?

Oh, uh.....hi, Pinkie Pie. I was, uh....just tryin' to see if I could get a waitressin' cutie mark. [Looks awkwardly at the mess on the floor]

Waitressing? How are you liking it so far?

[Pinkie cheerfully starts picking up that mess.]

....[Glances at her flank, sadly] Well I sure don't have one yet. [Bawwwww. ;_;]

Maybe you need to waitress a REALLY impressive order!

Like bringing out the TALLEST HAMBURGER EVER!

[This can only end well.]

[Kaylee is hard at work and a bit surprised by... pony. But, well.]

Ya need a hand cleanin' that up?

[Busy looking at her flank] Awwww....I guess I'm not cut out to be a waitress either.

[That's... a bit odd]

I ain't ever heard of a pony waitress before...

[Toni looks up from the menu as somebody sets food down in front of her.]

I'm sorry, you must have the wrong tab-

[She then sees that somebody is actually a somepony.]

...You're a horse.

[And she comes straight back with the bill!]

[There is a tiny horse serving her food! She's seen weirder things, but still!]

Sweetie, really, I think you have the wrong table, I haven't ordered yet!

Waugh!

[ Conan is drenched in soda and covered in salad. Awesome. This is what he gets for coming here, isn't it? ]

[Applejack is walking along when she glances in one of the larger windows of the Diner. Oh look, Apple Bloom is trying to give folks inside plates.

Wait? What?!

Applejack stops and quickly does a 360 to try and get inside the restaurant before the drones working inside do something to her little sister. She runs straight in and calls out after her.]

Apple Bloom! Just what in Equestria are you trying to do!

[Applejack is frantically looking around while running inside, but only really gets past the lobby before some drones stand try to stop her.]

I'm sorry, doggie, but we don't serve pets in here. You need to have your owner bring you a doggie bag if you want some of our food.

Pet schmet, Ah'm looking for mah sister! Get out of the way before Ah buck you out of the way!

[Obviously Applejack is not really being reasonable if she thinks shouting at a drone is going to get anything done now...]

[Just trying to see if her cutie mark is there...and then she hears her sister's voice.]

A-Applejack?!

[S-she's going to get caught, is she? Man, and just when she was having a chance to find her special talent. :(]

Apple Bloom?!

[Applejack takes a step toward the voice when a drone reaches for her.]

Oh no you don't!

[Applejack dodges the grab and suddenly ducks between their legs. Which weren't really set apart, so the drone goes flying over Applejack's back. She's about to run over to her sister when she sees a few other drones start coming towards her. At this point, she realizes if she went straight to Apple Bloom, she'd just be leading the drones to her.]

Apple Bloom, just stay low, alright, Ah'll be right back!

[And then Applejack dashes around the other drones like she's barrel weaving, essentially getting them to chase her outside and away from her sister.]

[Sansa is in a bad mood anyway, being forced to work as a serving girl and wheel around on the roller-skates all day. She's already twisted her ankle from falling a few times. Seeing a horse - a horse! - wandering around, dropping things is not making her day better. She looks around at the other servers, annoyed.]

Whichever of you brought their horse in here ought to clean up its mess and put it outside before it causes any more trouble.

[She heard that :(] H-hey - don't tell the drones! I still haven't got my cutie mark yet!

[ Now it's Sansa's turn to drop what she's carrying. Burgers and milkshakes, meet floor. She's going mad, she must be, because she thought she heard- ]
