Good afternoon, my name is Ky Kiske. For those of you who are new in town, I apologize in advance; this is not a pleasant place to be stuck in. However long you've been here, though, I find taking some time to relax can help relieve some of the stress, and as I've recently received some personal belongings, I thought I would offer what I could.

If anyone would like to join me for a cup of tea, I would be happy to oblige.

...On a similar note, if anyone has any suggestions for safely storing fragile objects in a... chaotic environment, I'd appreciate them.

[He's got a lot of fragile objects to worry about storing, if the table he's setting up outside is any indication; there are dozens of different teacups (lovingly) arranged alongside a large teapot, sugar bowls, and pitchers of milk (not the Milkman's). He's got his girly crown on, too, evidently acting as an Official Representative Of Illyria (tm), and is smiling politely to anyone who passes]

[An accurate description of their world, actually. Fights start over everything from information to food to minor annoyances.]

[Sin starts at Ky's sharp bark- soldier voice indeed, even Sin knew it was the same sort of order-barking he'd give to his soldiers (and to Sol when thoroughly enough annoyed), and that was part of why he generally chose to ignore it, instead taking a step towards Sherlock.]

Hey, can't blame me for being curious, if you're gonna imply that you can take it.

[He tries to goad, despite the low likelihood of it working.]

Sin, now is not the time!

[excuse you Ky only fights to arrest everyone]

I apologize, Mr. Holmes-- [if Ky speaks loudly enough, he can talk over whatever stupid thing Sin is going to do, right?]

[Sherlock gives Ky a curt nod. He ignores Sin, while keeping an eye on him. He figures he should at the very least be able to dive out of the way should Sin try anything.]

[He shoots Ky a snide smirk before he takes another step towards Sherlock.] What's wrong, scared?

[He quickly flicks his hand upwards, and a red spark flies quickly past Sherlock, just a foot to his side. He wasn't aiming for him, so much as to graze by him.] Or is your bark just worse than your bite?

Sin.

[And he moves forward pretty quickly]

Do not attack guests on our lawn!

[or, uh, at all, please]

[Sherlock isn't sure what the attack might be, but he's looking around. Luckily, the 1950s was a prime time for lawn ornaments. There are several around he could use for cover, shields or weapons.]

It's a simple preference. I'm already questioning if I am dead or not... I don't need to experience death in this place, thank you.

[Sin stops, not necessarily because of Ky (pssht don't even think that, Ky), but because this one isn't looking like it's going to be very fun after all.]

[With a snort, he turns back towards the street.] ...'s not so bad. It hurts, then you're gone. Then you wake up again.

Could take a hundred of those. [He shoots Ky in particular a look before he turns to leave.]

Goin' to mother's. [He calls, heading down the sidewalk towards town.]

[He sighs-- a very frustrated, lost father sigh-- before turning back to Sherlock.]

I'm sorry about all of this.

[He'll deal with Sin and his issues later, hopefully.]

[Sherlock seems casual about everything. Seriously, it's not the worst thing that ever happened to him.]

Son? You're hardly old enough to have a child as old as him...

As I said before, it's complicated. However it may seem, Sin is my son.

Complicated how?

[Because this is something Sherlock doesn't understand and therefore it's interesting!]

It's not something that is mine to share.

[He smiles politely but firmly, and goes back to his teacup]

Out of curiosity, are you a fighter?

[Normally Sherlock would press, but this place is so... odd, he can't.]

Only when I have to, and only as a last resort.

[Usually fighting with his mind is enough.]

That's the way it should be, if the world were fairer.

[He's relieved that he let the subject drop, though he's sure Sin would find some way to object anyway-- perhaps that he was ashamed of the truth.]

[He smiles wistfully.]

And if it were a tender world, sniveling would impede the flight of a bullet.

[He frowns slightly, just based on how negative that sounds]

There's nothing wrong with not wanting that violence.

I never said there was... I thought we were agreeing.

[This 'conversation' stuff is so difficult.]

Ah, forgive me, then. I believe I misunderstood.

[Automatically and cordially!]

So you could have anything from home... And you chose teacups.

[Sherlock would want his mobile or computer, but they would be worthless in 1950s. Anything else, he can find a suitable enough substitute.]

It wasn't just the teacups, no, but it wouldn't have been my first choice.

[His sword, maybe, or even his old sword if it were possible; his clothes were unimportant and he already had part of his magic back, but, well, he'd take what the town chose to give him.]

So you don't get to choose?

[Sherlock is studying the teacup.]

If I did, I've missed the chance.

I like having them here, though.

So, other than sentiment, what pleases you about their presence?

[Yes, Sherlock is still trying to understand this.]

The opportunity to perhaps brighten someone else's day, though the sentiment is really a large part of it.

[He nods.]

I don't understand sentiment. It does more harm than good.
