[Post Step Right Up] Should have listened to all the things I was told
[ Day after the fall of the carnival, Morning, Phone, filtered from drones ]
[ Ilsa’s voice is rough, but this time it sounds more physical than her being morose. ]
Just checking in with everyone, sorry for dying on you this time. I’m going to take a sick day from the office, but if you need me, I’ll be at home most of the day.
[ Afternoon, 1126 Taylor Road ]
[ Ilsa hasn’t heard from Tarvek since she fell through the vortex tunnel in the fun house... and not just on the phone. So she’s knocking on the door, intent on checking on him.
As usual for her after one of these events, she looks like death on a cracker. ]
[ Evening, somewhere around the neighborhoods, maybe in the direction of Kramden Road. Maybe. ]
[ Ilsa is walking home, and might probably be way off course. This is, in fact, the first time she has deliberately gotten blind, stinking drunk since coming to Mayfield.
You might want to talk to her before she starts singing. ]

[Phone]
At least this time, he's able to at least pretend to be happy again. It's not very convincing, but he's decidedly better then he was before, and getting better.]
Hey there, Doc. What happened?
Re: [Phone]
[ She's also speaking a little louder than usual, but it isn't shouting. ]
[Phone]
You got caught in a fire??? I'm sorry. You ok now?

Evening
Ilsa?
[He's on her front porch pacing back and forth, waiting to maybe be let in. And he can't smell her... he just smells something that's a lot like the punch at prom. Huh.]
Ilsaaaaaa....?
Re: Evening
Nyaaaaaanpire....
[ Sounds a little like Ilsa, but strange. ]

[There she was! He could follow the sound of her voice! If it sounded funny, well... well, when he got there, he'd see why it's so funny.
He bolted around the house as fast as his little legs could carry him, eyes wide. Where was she? Was she okay?]
Nyaa, I missed you, Ilsa!

But it is nearly midnight, and there is an empty whiskey bottle under the lounger. ]
Hey, kitten - how'ya doin', hon?
[ She stretches out her hand, wiggling her fingers at the right height to scritch his head if he were close enough. ]

Re: [Phone]
[ She coughs, away from the receiver. ] Sorry about that.
In the basement, I ran into Calleo, and we went out the vortex tunnel. I found out later that he went through immediately after I entered it, but I came through the next day.

Evening
Hey.
[Loud enough to be heard, but not enough to startle, she hopes.]
Do you need some help getting back to your house?
Re: Evening
Wanna go home... not here.
no subject
I can't do that for you. But let's get you someplace where you can sit down and relax for now.

Damn town... stupid, freaking, sonofa....
[ She tries to get another drink from the empty bottle, and stumbles off the sidewalk into someone's fence. ]

And yer out of bed because...?
Re: 1126 Taylor
Her voice is hoarse and a trifle loud, as if she cannot hear herself. ]
I'm checking on Tarvek, Madame Weatherwax.
[ The bruising around her eyes is not quite apparent behind her sunglasses, but the bandaging on her arms and hands is a little loose. ]
Re: 1126 Taylor
[Bluntness: It's an art form.]

Oh, good - not one of the empty ossifers.
[ She closes her eyes, winces, and then breathes out. ]
Officers. Hmph. I can say it.
no subject
Yes. Of course you can.
[A sigh escaped him as he shook his head. Eyes narrowed as he looked over over.]
Where are you going?
