[Action A: Do you live at 339 Brady Lane? Are you passing by on the street somewhere nearby? Then you're in for a surprise.

You see, Balin asked Quinn for a favor of the technological variety. With not much else to occupy his time, he got right to it, but now it's testing time.

Housemates might find themselves stepping on triggers hidden under rugs that suddenly cause a mine to EXPLODE.... with confetti. Quinn's a pacifist as it is, and it's not like he has a crazy vendetta against his friends. Outside, he'll be hiding in the garage with a remote in his hands, waiting for someone to pass by his hidden "mines" to set them off. Victims outside will be treated to attacks of confetti, water, or even glitter. And some giggling from inside the garage, where the lanky technomancer sits with the remote in one hand and a beer in the other. You might just have a few words for him, huh?]

[ She seems to be trying to hold the cases in a way to make sure the water doesn't get in. ]

[He'll grab one from the downstairs bathroom in the house, and toss it to her when he comes out.]

Sorry, didn't know ya were carryin'... What are ya carrying?

[ Carefully drying the cases one at a time before cracking them open, and checking the contents. ]

Music and textbooks.

[ The discs she brings out are inspected closely, and gently dried if wet. ]

Figures the one day I finally decide to try some pranks, and you're bringin' by music. Whatcha got?

[ She chuckles. ] Some modern operas. [ Ilsa takes the folios from the smaller case, checking for water damage. ] I was sent the discs, but not the player or even the reader.

What format is it? Maybe I got somethin'.

HVD. I was issued a reader when I was a freshman pre-med, and got the player before going into med school.

[ She shrugs ] I'm not sure when it got into commercial production, maybe when I was in high school?

[technohippie]

HVD? Mind if I take a look?

[New toys. NEW TOYS.]

[ She sorts through the discs and pulls out Nixon In China for him to look over. ] This is the first of the series. Do you have anything that can read it?

[technohippie]

[He looks it over, impressed, and chuckling.] Well I'll be. Do ya come some kinda crazy alternate universe where HVD won the battle against Blu-Ray? I don't have a player here, sadly, but... Gimme some time. I might be able to get somethin' together that can read it.

[ooeeooahah]

I guess. [ She opens the briefcase, ] These are the textbooks, and... [ Ilsa selects the literature textbook, ] this one has the most text. The others have a lot of video demonstrations.

[technohippie]

I'll see if I can fix up my laptop to read the discs. Then we can check them out on the big screen. Just gotta finish up this first project, if ya don't mind.

If you can, that's more than I had before.

[ She gives him a kiss on the cheek. ]

[He definitely seems happy to be useful.] Not a problem, darlin'.

You make it sound like I'm terrorizin' the town.

[ She chuckles, ] Being out of school means you can get in more trouble.

These won't get any worse than water and glitter. I promise!

If you can get these read, I'm going to see about transcribing the textbooks for local use.

I'm sure it'll be way more interestin' stuff than the texts we got here.

Most of it is from my first year at med school. If they ever send my culinary school texts, I think more people would be interested in those.

I'm sure any change in old fashioned American cuisine books would be really popular.

They sent me the Brown Encyclpedia book on pork, right after Egon got moved to my house. [ She sighs, sad. ] I guess his drone won't mind that it's treif. Not that he mentioned it, but..
