[He does a double-take when he walks by, because it would be ridiculous to see everyone around here]
[the sensible thing to do would be to just shake it off and stop pretending to see people he knows in random strangers on the street]
[but this is Ky and sensible things don't happen so he turns right around to pursue this possible lead]
