[Jenny was taking a walk, hands shoved into her pockets. She really needed to do something about all the time on her hands. Maybe training a few people in unarmed combat would be a bit better of a use of her time. She'd been thinking about it for a few days now. A few well trained men and women would be damn useful.

She lit up a cigarette as she stopped to watch over the area she'd ended up in. Yeah, a few well trained people would do wonders for this place. Not to mention a good overhaul of their communications relay.]

Hey! Watch out!

[If Jenny looks up she might see a tennis ball flying in her general direction. Firo's chasing after it, a sawn-off broomstick in his hand.]

[There's a knock on your door.]

[She wasn't expecting you to get here so fast. She would have put the kettle on first if she'd known.

Jenny makes her way over to the door and opens it. Contrary to how she looked in Coran's body she's a rather tall blond British woman with trousers and a t-shirt on and a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. She gives a quick look around outside before she gestures Tex in.]

Speedy little thing, aren't you.

[She most certainly approves.]

[Quick reflexes help as Jenny catches the ball and offers it back to the kid.]

Lose something?

[He skips to a halt in front of her, looking a little sheepish as he takes the ball back.]

Oh, yeah. Thanks.

That was a pretty nice catch.

[She offers a smile, though it really doesn't reach further then her lips.]

I've played a lot of ball in my day.

Yeah?

[He smiles back.]

I think somebody was talkin' over the phone about puttin' together a baseball game, if you're interested. It's one way to pass the time here.

I'll have to think about it kid.

[She has other irons on the fire right now and fun and games isn't one of them.]

[And there goes the smile.]

I'm not a kid, lady.

[Her brow raises.]

Almost everyone's a kid to me, kid.

[When you're pushing past a century there's not many people who even range in your age bracket.]

[He bristles at that, but his curiosity prevents an outburst. The friendliness in his tone, however, has evaporated.]

Oh, really? You don't look that old. I wouldn't put you much past forty.

[Damn that hurts. She glares at him in annoyance. Even an old dame can be sensitive about her looks.]

Now you're just being insulting. I don't look a day over twenty.

Not like there's much else to do.

[Walks inside.]

So, this "club".

[Inwardly, he's pretty pleased that it looks like he managed to bug her, even a little bit. He rolls his eyes and puts on a sarcastic tone. ]

Then please forgive me for hurtin' your feelings.

No harm done. Have fun with your ball, kid.

[She most definitely did that on purpose. To add insult to injury she ruffles his hair a little and starts to walk away.]

[She closes the door behind Tex as she enters.]

It's just what you think.

[She keeps talking as she makes her way to the kitchen to put the kettle on. With an added kick of course.]

Apparently Olivier is still running it. My house mate Cade stumbled on the fact a few days ago. How good are you at creating tech from primitive parts?

[She's been thinking about the rebellion problems Tex told her about a few weeks ago and has thought up some ideas on how to deal with them.]

[Ouch. She wins this round.]

[Firo has no reply to that, but he does decide- in one of his less wise moments- to pitch the ball right over her head as she's walking away. Just to startle her, hopefully.

Because that's definitely a mature way to show that he's not a kid.]

[Jenny doesn't seem startled at all. In fact, she bends down and picks it up again tossing it behind her.]

If you wanna pitch in the big leagues kid you'd better learn to keep hold of your balls.

[Aaaaaand now she's walking away again.]

[Firo glares at her, then at the ball, before stalking off in the other direction.]

Oh she's back.

[Shrugs.]

Pretty decent. Not much else to work with here anyway.

We need a way know when people become stepfords and when they're back. Otherwise we're pretty much useless.

[Not for the first time did she want Angie to be here. That girl's brilliant mind would be weaved around and through this problem in no time. With or without the nanos.]

There's got to be some sort of chemical alteration, but we need to capture and study one of them before we can find out.

[Which meant finding a doctor twisted enough to do surgery on a drone.]

You know what happens to the people that die?

I heard it's changed a bit recently. But you wake up in your bed the next day or so.

So the body disappears?

[Yes, she's thinking of body snatching.]

Yup. Well it stays till around midnight then it vanishes and appears in its bed.

Know anyone who could do an autopsy in a hurry?

Not off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's a few people in town that would be able to.

We need someone we can trust, who can work fast, and who won't ask too many questions.

Finding people you can trust in this town is difficult.

I thought it would be. We'll need someone who's been here a while.

Think any of the people who work in the hospital actually know how to do their job?

I've been surveying the hospital. Nothing yet though.

Maybe make a phone call asking that. It's a reasonable question in a town like this.

The problem would be keeping it from the little bitch.

We just leave the dissection part out of the phone call.

So it's only the phone lines that she monitors?
