Really? Didn't notice. [OH SO CASUAL.] Taking this housewife gig seriously, huh?

The boys come by a lot, I like to have something for them.

You have boys? [Can he be one? He's good at being one. Maybe he should be less enthusiastic about rubbing himself all over a Death for being hot and baking, but... He's already dead. What's the worse than could happen?]

[She giggles. He's rather enthusiastic, isn't he?]

Luke and Slugger, the grandkids of sort. Death's granddaughter's assigned children.

[Yes, he is.

But he does actually drop the act, because he would rather like to discuss things with her.]

Got a few to spare? We could talk shop. Get me acclimated to this joint. I barely know you, but I know Deaths, and being recently dead, I don't think I've got much to lose by actually trusting you. [He shrugs.]

Of course, come in. I like getting to know the neighbours.

[He saunters in.] You're really taking to this whole Suzie Homemaker thing, huh?

[She shrugs]

I'm used to working all the time. I need something to keep me busy here.

You're telling me. I had a nice gig back home. Figures one apocalypse later, I'm miserable, dead, and living my afterlife is Suburban Hell. [He rolls his eyes.] What can you do?

Take up baking, apparently. Death knits. The lack of things to do is almost the most unsettling part.

And that's the part that hits me right here. [He taps his chest around where his heart would be.] I'm an artist with a decent canvas and no paints. If I wanna shake things up, I'm gonna have to do it the old-fashioned way.
