[Sometimes, on rainy April days when Slugger just wants some space to himself, he goes to his grandparents' home and lies on the rug petting Death's cat. Perhaps the Deaths have noticed a few red spider lilies growing outside their kitchen window. And every time he comes over, another one seems to grow.

Presently, he's half-dozing off with his hand resting on the sleeping cat's back.]

[He sits up, stretching, and reaches for his bat on the floor nearby.]

Can I have one? [Slugger knows what the answer will be. He's just trying to seem polite.]

Of course. We could never finish all of them on our own.

[Excellent. In a matter of seconds he's on his feet and heading toward the kitchen. Not even a wall stands in his way as he passes directly through it. Once on the other side, he sniffs and looks around for the goods.]
