Okay! Everyone! So there's spirits here. Or ghosts, or whatever you want to call them. A-Anyway, I'm not sure why they're here or how they got here, but... Can anyone talk to them? I can't just yet. I'm a ghost, so I might be able to understand their situation of I can talk to them.

Just... Just please don't hurt them, okay? They should be able to hear you, even if you can't hear or see them, so just try to be reasonable and calm with them, okay?

And if anyone does know what's going on, please let me know!

Oh goodness. They must be so upset! Try talking to them calmly. They should be able to hear you, even if you can't hear them. It might help them calm down if they know where they are.

[There's a crash and Sealand in back on the phone.]

Miss Jenkins? I'm sorry, but most of the ones I've had to deal with don't have their higher functions anymore. I'm not sure some of them can listen at all anymore, much less to reason.

I've been trying to open the door for them, and giving them the push in the right direction. All of the ones I've seen so far are revenants, or discorporated beyond that point.

Um... [She thinks she gets what you mean. She's heard stories.] So they're not angry, really, but not in their own minds. Then if there's no way to reason with them, the only thing to do would be, um... e-exorcism.

Yes, hon - it's hard, sometimes, but I was taught it was cruel to leave them so angry and confused. My grandparents are still around, but taught me how to send them on if they got that way.

I'm human here, though! Mostly. I can do some of the things like when I was in the Afterlife, but I don't think it's the same. But no, I can't in this case.

They were my teachers, but it was easier to talk to them from sundown to dawn. There aren't many people who can see them, much less talk with them outside their bloodline.

But that doesn't solve our problem here. If you do find one that can listen, see if they can help?

Well, kind of. They were linked to the house and grounds where they lived, so when they died on the highway, they were pulled to their anchor spot. Erm... mage-work anchor, that is. They had been in that state since before my parents met, but Mama couldn't see or hear them for almost a decade. There's a long story attached to the explanation, but the theory is that because they were guardians, they died together, and they had a minor child who survived them, they were able to stay behind to watch over her.

I don't think they want to be here at all. They go back, easily enough, once I give them a nudge.

I sometimes worry that the reason they haven't moved on is because they still have work to do, but at the same time, it was great to learn from them.

Speaking for myself, if I found a family member, remembered them, AND they could see me? I would stick around too!
