[... Because it honestly sounds as if there are two people arguing. Or one person is ranting and raving while the other sits there and takes it. One voice is lower, slightly more distorted than the other. It may be recognizable to some.]

[Someone got their crazy spirit friend back -- and said friend isn't entirely pleased with the situation they've landed themselves in.]

-- they amuse themselves with pointless questions and meaningless power struggles! With matters of affection. Trivial pursuits while those in power continue to hold back what is rightfully ours!

They restrain and shackle us! We are no better than tranquil! Animals, grown content with our cages!

[Something slams against a hard surface -- a hand into a countertop, probably.]

[The voice trails off, and there's silence for several long seconds. Finally, someone picks up the phone, and sets it back in its cradle.]

That's a complicated question and I don't think the majority of people with a choice are happy. But like anywhere a person will find the positives of their situation and will find joy and things to be happy about when they can.

[Tsubaki is still very much new to Mayfield, so when she overhears this on the phone she admittedly freaks out a little. The new voice (or was it the same one, it's hard for her to tell) makes her jump a little, but she remains calm over the phone.]
