[It really was a big deal for him to speak up, and it had taken a lot of determination for him to come to this conclusion. He was almost ready to give in though, but in the back of his mind he asked himself what would his sister do.]

Um....

[Even if he had the resolve his voice was still very soft and hesitant.]

S-since it's A-Ash Wednesday... I thought... I d-d-decided.... I-I can bless anyone who w-wishes at the Ch-Church today....

[He sounds like he was going to say more but then whatever words he had got stuck in his throat. He struggles for a little bit before simply putting the receiver down.]

[Action; Church]

[He is indeed at the church, all dressed up and everything. Part of him is hoping no one will show up, part of him is hoping that he can set a good example and not be an embarrassment for all members of the Church.]

A-Armageddon was a w-war that happened n-nine hundred y-years ago. G-great weapons wee used that s-scorched the E-Earth making m-most of it i-inhabitable.

How did the war start? Or do people remember?

V-vampires! Th-they came from the s-sky and tried to wipe out h-humanity.

......vampires.

[Or maybe you're just an insane kid the people are humouring here.]

Y-yes.

[Alas time has wiped out the true understanding of what they are and mixed it with mythology.]

W-war lasted a r-really long time, a h-hundred years or so. H-humanity has spent that time s-since rebuilding.

And what happened to these "vampires"?

They g-got pushed to the east and f-formed the New H-Human Empire. Th-there are still some outside of there though. U-usually in hiding. Th-the Church takes care of t-trouble from them though.
