[It really was a big deal for him to speak up, and it had taken a lot of determination for him to come to this conclusion. He was almost ready to give in though, but in the back of his mind he asked himself what would his sister do.]

Um....

[Even if he had the resolve his voice was still very soft and hesitant.]

S-since it's A-Ash Wednesday... I thought... I d-d-decided.... I-I can bless anyone who w-wishes at the Ch-Church today....

[He sounds like he was going to say more but then whatever words he had got stuck in his throat. He struggles for a little bit before simply putting the receiver down.]

[He is indeed at the church, all dressed up and everything. Part of him is hoping no one will show up, part of him is hoping that he can set a good example and not be an embarrassment for all members of the Church.]

Alright, I will do my best.

[Most likely, though, she would find that other inhabitants of the town had already set up their own bounded fields there. After determining that they too are the protective variety, she sets her own, just in case.]

[He watches her curiously. He wondered if it was something he would be able to see or not. Like in some fantasy books, some stories made magic very flashy, and the way the people who used magic here talked he assumed it was the way of fantasy books rather than the witches of his world.]

[The process is nothing too complex. She simply sketches a few runes here and there--at the foot of the walls, under the chairs, on the side of the door. It is a primitive bounded field, enough to warn her of hostile intent, but not to keep anything out. It would also be easily noticeable to any magic users, but she hopes that would serve as a warning to any hostiles to stay away.]

[The previous bounded field, more complex than hers, is left in its place. She wonders who had created it. Since it is also geared toward giving out a warning in case of attack, said creator must not have been a hostile.]

[He just follows her around with his eyes. It seemed really interesting. He almost spoke up to ask her questions about what she was writing, what did it mean, what did it do, but then stopped himself. He shouldn't interrupt.]

I have finished setting up the bounded field. It cannot keep anything out, or have negative effects on anyone, but it can set off an alarm if anyone with hostile intent enters. In addition, there is at least one more bounded field here alongside mine. It seems to have similar purposes. Do you know anyone who could have set it up?
