...I wonder if this is what it feels like after a long week of drinking alcohol. I've never had any before, but I've read that blackouts are common when one binges. Anyways, I seem to have lost some time, so I apologize to anyone [she attempted to jump into the lap of as if she was a chihuahua instead of a wolf] I acted... unusual toward.

I do have a question for you all. How many of you consider yourself kin to canines? Dogs, wolves, foxes or the like...

[She then chuckles.] And Garviel? You don't count for this purposes of this call. But I'd like to see you.

Yes, I am. I arrived a few days ago, but luckily some friends of mine were here to explain things to me.

Friends are always good. I was lucky in that my master was already here. Allow me to make an assumption, Mamizou.

You are considered your Mayfield family's 'pet', correct?

Ahaha...yes, I am. [And she isn't too fond of that.] Why do you ask?

I just wanted to give you a friendly warning about our position as pets that I had to learn the hard way. If you normally have the ability to take on a form that is humanoid... the drones of this town will never see you as anything other than the pet. I couldn't even go grocery shopping without being beaten with a broom.

[pompokolin]

Is that right? [Guess it won't be so easy for her to get into the bar, then.] That's rather inconvenient. These drones really are blind to who we really are...

Most of them. But thankfully many of the residents work in the businesses, so we can get some things without having to go through an intermediary.

[pompokolin]

Ah, that's good to know. I suppose I'll have to keep an eye out for how many drones are working here, then. [Especially where they sell food. And alcohol. Those things are important.]

[Food, yes. Alcohol, not so much.]

Okay, I know we've just started talking, but... I'm a wolf. Wolves have packs and I... miss having one. I don't know how solitary tanuki are by nature, but if the idea of a pack sounds right to you... if there are more like us, would you think about creating something like a pack for us to rely on?

[pompokolin]

[Hmm.] Well, now...as a rule, we're not as sociable as wolves are, but we do band together when we have to. [Like for parties. Because there ain't no party like a tanuki party.] And I do believe in strength in numbers...so I will certainly consider it.

That's all I ask. I have a family. I have people I love, but they're human. And sometimes, I just need to run and be a wolf. It's hard to balance my duties as a familiar and my nature.
