[The carnival's been in town for a couple of days now - hope everyone's having tons of fun fun fun! All the stalls and rides are still up and running, so there's no need to worry about missing out on that swell prize you've been meaning to win for your best gal. Make sure to hop on our super romantic Ferris Wheel afterwards while splitting a deep-fried milkshake!

As an extra special treat, it looks like the funhouse has finally been fixed! Go ahead, grab some friends and explore to your heart's content. There's plenty of things to do within - we're sure everyone will find something exciting to capture their interest! And if some of your friends who went in with you seem to go missing after a while, well...they're bound to turn up sooner or later.]

(OOC: Characters who have signed up for the event and explore the funhouse, please join welcome_rpg; your character will be exiting the funhouse there, although not every character will be exiting on the same day. Please refer to to this post to see when your character will be arriving. The community will open at 12:00 PM EST on Friday, June 29th. It is not necessary to reply to this post in order to participate in the next part of the event.

Additionally, any character who explores the funhouse will be at risk for injury or trauma.)

Arya, there you are.

[She jumps a little, despite herself.] Were you looking for me?

I suspected you would be in here somewhere.

[And maybe wanted to keep an eye on you...]

[Good idea not telling her that.]

I'm fine. [Her hand drifts to the handle of the kitchen knife attached to the hem of her skirt, trying to hide it. Don't you dare try to disarm her. :|]

[After a few decades as a journalist... it's her job to notice things]

I'm not going to stab you. [Obviously. She likes you.]

I would hope not.

[She's rather fond of the girl, after all]

It's wisest to start with observation though.

[She nods]

[Sarah Jane smiles at that statement]

Oh, you are a bright one. It's amazing what people will miss.

[She smiles a little at the praise.]

People see what they expect to see. [It's how she's stayed alive.]

Exactly. And when you keep that in mind, it can be very useful.

It's why they never caught me back home. [Still looking around, utterly unaware of how alarming that sentence could be.]

[Sarah Jane frowns. It's a mum thing.]

Just... how bad is it?

Bad. [She frowns and tries to brush it off. Bragging about her skills is one thing, but she really doesn't want to explain in detail- especially not to someone with that mom look. She knows that look.]

But you're careful.

[It's... not a real comfort. But unfortunately, she can't exactly affect any situation in Arya's homeworld]

[Another little frown.] You sound like my mother.

Force of habit, I suppose... my youngest is a few years older than you are.

How many children do you have?

[afterthesky]

Two. Luke is seventeen and Sky is twelve.

[notalady]

I have four brothers and one sister. [Granted, one is a half brother, but he counts to Arya.]
