[AU Swap: Zidane was not abducted by Kuja (although Kuja tried and Garland decided to keep a more watchful eye on Zidane as a result). Therefore, he grew up on Terra under Garland’s wing and into the angel of death that Garland wanted him to be....or at least mostly. This Zidane is sadistic and cruel and likes murder and slaughter. He still retains a playful sense of humour although it is more twisted and sick (think of someone squirting you with a practical joke flower water-gun which is actually full of fatally burning acid). Zidane also prides in being Garland’s favourite Genome, although since he has free will, he does not like Garland ordering him what to do all the time and therefore sometimes shows a rebellious streak against his master. ]

[Good morning, Mayfield! Isn’t it a beautiful day? The sun is shining, the birds are singing and Zidane seems to have made an accidental phone call to the whole of Mayfield!

Or at least it sounds like Zidane. Something seems a little off...]

I’m so bored. Man, I can’t believe I’m trapped in this dump with a bunch of losers. I’ve gotta find a way to get back to Terra and report to Garland. That old geezer better not do something while I’m gone – can’t let him and Kuja reap all those Gaian souls and leave me out of the fun.

[A pause...] Hmm.....that doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun here, though. Hee hee hee....

[Later in the day, you can find Zidane in the street, looking like he is having difficulty trying to drag.....a small box? If you see him, he will call out to you]

Hey, can you give me a hand with this? I need to deliver it to 1247 Williams.

[No, the box isn’t really a jack-in-the-box that shoots out sharp knives right at you. What are you talking about?]

[OOC: If you want to do Action, just let me know if you want your character to get injured by knives. I’m not actually planning for him to kill anyone but I don’t want him hurting anyone without other people’s permissions!]

[Oh look, there's Locke, taking notice of Zidane trying to drag a... box. He could only shake his head.]

It can't really be all that heavy, now can it?

[He frowns... and immediately a smile is right to his face.]

Hey, how's about I help you carry it?

Really? Thanks, man! I've been really struggling with this thing!

[Approach he does! After all.. he's planning making off with the box, regardless if it's trapped or not. When he plucked it from the ground... he took notice that it didn't seem as heavy as this guy made it out to be!]

Great! Now, uh....can I check if it's okay? I dropped it earlier and there's something pretty fragile in there. [OOC: Let me know if you want Locke to be hurt!]

[Zidane then crouches down and lifts up the lid. Suddenly, a jack-in-the-box springs right out, along with a bunch of knives which are coming right in your direction, Locke!]

[He stood and was rather curious about what was inside. He should've been more cateful... and jerks back from surprise. Not expecting the knives, he quickly throws up his arms to shield his eyes and ducks, meeting a few of the blades.]

Ahh! What--

[Zidane slowly pushes himself up, his face down and his shoulders slumped. When he is standing, his shoulders start to shake and suddenly, Locke can hear cruel laughter coming out of the boy]

[Locke grit his teeth from annoyance and pain. Lookiover to the youth... he was shocked.]

That... was not funny!! Why would you even...

[And then he stops but looks up with some horrifying smirk on his face] I can't believe you actually fell for that! Is the whole town really this stupid? No wonder we haven't found a way out yet.

For your information, kid, it's only sensible to help when asked. Your mother must've never taught you manners.

It's also sensible not to judge someone by first impressions. Could save your ass from getting in a real mess like it has now.

Yeah? That so?

[Then you better be ready, because against better judgement, Locke pulls out those daggers and begins to hurl them at the other with alarming speed.]

[Fortunately for Locke and unfortunately for evil!Zidane, evil!Zidane quickly tries to dodge to the side but gets two stuck in his arm. He cries out in pain, grabs his arm and then gives a murderous glare at Locke]
