2nd Case
A: Action - Around Town, early evening ]
[ Even though he allowed his partner to take full lead on this little investigation of theirs, Carlton can not not launch his own mini-investigation in the process.
There is always a motive to a crime, but despite being a well-experienced detective, his efforts in finding said motives are coming up fruitless - which does nothing but aggravate the ever loving crap out of him.
What's worse, he can't help but feel that O'Hara was right in saying this was right up Spencer's (and collectively, Psych's) alley. Not that he was going to admit that little fact to anyone.
Crap on a cracker. ]
B: Phone - Later that same evening ]
[ Between working at the office and failing miserably with his investigating, Carlton's mood is sort of on the sourpuss side. Well, more-so than usual anyway.
First things first. He wants his baby back. He can't protect and serve without his service weapon, of course. ]
I don't suppose any of you dunderheads would know just exactly where I could get my M1911 back, right? And before some smart-ass answers, I don't mean the ones I can purchase in town.

[ One can almost hear the accompanying eye-rolling and the tossing of hands up in the air. ]
For God's sake. Manners cost you nothing and they're more likely to get you actual answers.
hahaha I love you.
right back atcha!

I went looking around town for any evidence myself and found not a God-damned thing.
No motive, no evidence, almost like there is absolutely no crime happening in this place at all, which hearing it out of my mouth sounds like a load of crap!

[ Suddenly, she perks up. ] Oh, but I did find out something! We're neighbors, you and I. The house I'm at? 952 Beulah.

Given all this conspiracy theory nonsense it sounds anything could happen... [ a pause, and rummages through papers ] It's almost like the Prospect Gardens incident [ then he grimaces since he was in said incident. ] ...minus the amyl-nitrite trying to make the inhabitants go berserk, of course.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm getting the same feeling about this - although, I'm crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that the people responsible for this won't take a page out of that crazy girl's book. That incident was a little too close for comfort. Poor Gus probably still has nightmares.

[ a short pause ] nor wanting to chase anyone with a sword with the intention to kill them.
Just what in the name of sweet Justice did we stumble upon...Zombie Outbreaks, the dead being reanimated...spiders in the milk, and everyone from here finds this normal, I can't even make out any idea out of what I've got sitting in front of me.

[ There's a long pause, followed by a sigh. ] I honestly have no idea, Carlton. It's like we're stuck in a bad horror movie. But I guess if I had to find some small amount of hope in all of this, at least we're not alone.

Whatever information we find, we'll put towards the case no matter how small and insignifigant it seems. At this rate we're never going to find concrete evidence to pin a motive as to why we're here, so anything is better than nothing.
You see what you can find from that feminism club, I think there's some prom-like event coming up soon so we should stake that out and see if we can get anything from that. I'll continue to attempt to make something out of the crap I already learned, and hopefully we can come up with some plausible reason as to the happenings here.
We should probably meet up eventually and work on this together rather over the phone too, we'd probably get more done that way.

Right, I'll compile my notes on what little I've found out so far. You have a point, we should definitely set up a meet soon and go over everything we have together. We... probably shouldn't talk about anything relating to this over these phones, actually. They don't seem to be very reliable and we're better off not attracting the wrong kind of attention before we've even properly gotten started. I keep hearing these stories about brainwashing as a punishment for disobeying the rules and I'm not crazy about finding out personally if they're true.

[ He winces. Given all the crazy crap between a shark being a suspect to Adrian Viccellio trying to preform a phlembotomy to Amy trying to drive him out of the condo with poppers, Carlton has had his fair share of crazy. ] Nor would I for that matter. Given that you're just across the street, it could be your place or mine, I'm not really picky about either, so your move partner.

[ There's a smile in her voice. She remembers all too well how happy Carlton was to book that bitchy blonde with the banana yellow dress - his very own date, no less - at Shawn and Gus' high school reunion. ]
It's all the same to me, too. Oh, you have one of those drones as a wife, right? I guess it depends if you can get rid of her while we go over things. It's probably not wise to have one of those things within hearing range. Or you could just come over here, it could be easier.

Maybe we'll get lucky and get more information other than crackpot theories and lack of evidence.
no subject
Maybe. Just don't get your hopes up too much, okay? I have a feeling this investigation is going to be more of a marathon instead of a sprint.
no subject
I just hope that we can figure it out before something drastic happens to the people that are trapped here.

At least you're not alone here, O'Hara. And trust me, we're going to find ourselves out of this damn place come hell or high water. Spencer would have my head if anything but getting you out of here happened.
