[Slugger's focus remains fixed on the creature before he notices whom it's targeting. Pokey's brother, it appeared, was just as good at getting himself into trouble as Pokey himself. And because this is Pokey's brother, Slugger can't just stand there waiting to see what will happen once the thing reaches him. So instead he launches forward, his wheels a blur of movement, to follow swiftly after the monster. He isn't sure exactly what he's going to do once he catches up but he holds his bat at the ready.]
