Where I'm from, we usually refer to them as ghosts as that's the essential part that makes a human human, no matter how much they replace their body with cybernetics and not everyone likes to use the term soul as it has a more religious connotation.

Unfortunately it really is a something that is hard to quantify or prove even in humans, let alone AIs or other machines.
