Trente-troisième Grimoire

-The girl on the other end clears her throat before she begins reading. The voice used sounds empty. Mechanical. Devoid of any real life or emotion. It's still a human-like speaking voice, but only in using proper inflection. The rest... is dreadfully hollow. As if it would swallow someone hole if they dared look further. The call isn't filtered. She doesn't need to bother. They know that they know.-

Experiments conclusive. Strange droning phenom is glitch caused by programming of system. Core error, may not be repairable without entire system overhaul, not feas. in current conditions.

Conclusion: that residents will be converted to drones over time is inescapable; source of population renewal will have to be found. However, not total loss. Process of conversion proven to provide substantial power; perhaps enough to maintain syst. past expected life.

Will leave decision to you.
--William

...

This is related to that machine. -The voice now invoked anxiety. Terror.-

If you want to know so badly, then go forth. But be prepared for the worst. You will find no hope there.

[ Nena's voice is quiet at first, in fact, it's reflective. She's trying to take this all in. This means that they theory was true. No one ever believed her and many were skeptic but, still, the truth is the truth. But this also meant that anyone Nena ever met and really enjoyed - Merem, Eva, Rudolf, Isaac, Miria, Dawn, Her brother, those two idiot Meisters, the whole lot of them were now permanently trapped in that vat.

Patchy should recognize Nena's voice. It's incredibly grating and became widespread when she threatened to shoot everyone over prom. However, the tone she uses here isn't her usual ignorant glee when it comes to just about everything, or the surprising amounts of hostility when confronted. She uses a more somber tone. ]

So I was right this whole entire time. This is terrible!! Did you try and destroy it? Please tell me you did! [ After all, to her, she destroyed it with one bullet. Why wouldn't it be any different here? ]

That's not exactly true! How can't it be real that time? The town never said the whole thing was a lie! A lot of people thought some parts were true, just to throw us onto the wrong track. [ Nena couldn't think of a more eloquent way to state that, but then again she hardly is ever eloquent. She knows that the town is always trying to trick people, or trick people into thinking they're tricked. The town specializes in some wizardry known as trickception. ]

I didn't feel much but I did feel someone there. What did you see? I just saw a vat and a generator so I shot one and Slugger destroyed the other. [ And now Nena's big fat mouth opens up and proceeds to just blaze on by with a billion questions a minute. ] What did you feel anyways? Did you find the note when you were there? How would destroying it get us home? It only took care of the drones and the power system. There's probably something else preventing us from really leaving Mayfield. After all, Lucy was still active when the power went out. [ In the rush of her bombardment of tactless questions, she grips the and shakes the table the phone is on in anger. It's clear this conversation isn't really doing any good for her temper. ]
